“Expecting with Purpose”

Jeremiah 29:11

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

When you hear the word “expecting,” immediately the phrases “anticipation of” and “looking forward to” comes to mind.  The word is also commonly used referencing a woman’s pregnancy.  In the natural, a woman carries a baby for nine months.  During this time, her body is going through changes which prepares the mommy-to-be for giving birth.  Every mother will tell you right before the baby comes, she had to experience some labor pains.  The same birthing experience that takes place in the natural also happens in the spiritual.  God placed special gifts inside of us all while we were still in our mother’s womb.  When God is trying to pull the gift out of us, there are some personal changes that we must make.  We must become perfected in the spirit in order to flow in excellence.  By becoming perfected, God has to go on the inside of us and remove those things that will hinder the promises He told us will come to pass.  Being perfected and shaped into the man and woman God has called us to be will take the comfort away and make things a bit uncomfortable. This is similar to the labor pains. During this time some people who are the closest to you may not understand or can relate to what is going on with you.   Sometimes isolating ourselves in order for God to work on us in preparation for what’s to come will allow Him to have our undivided attention.  No matter how many challenges or difficult periods come your way, always remember that He will never put more on you than one can bear.   In order for us to bring forth the gifts, we must put aside our personal agendas and accept God’s will for our lives.

Matthew 19:26

26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Once God reveals your gift to you, act on it! The job of the enemy is to lie about how average you are.  He will tell you it can’t be done because you don’t have the education, money, where you come from or the past life you lived.  NEVER allow the enemy to talk you out of what God has promised for your life.  The reason why many of us haven’t made it to the next level is because we will not leave that familiar place and allow God to take us to the unfamiliar in order to stretch us.  It’s not easy leaving what you know to tap into the unknown.  For many, it can be the lack of trust in God and/or fear.  If God be for you, who can be against you?  The worse thing we can do is sit on our gifts, only having them to be taken away and given to someone else.  If you don’t know what that gift is, simply go before the Lord, spend time with Him and He will reveal your true purpose.  One day we will all have to stand before Him, and when we do, let us be completely emptied out of our gifts.  Don’t keep it to yourself! Use it for His glory!

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT: Want to bless God? Operate in the gift He gave you, flowing out of excellence, spirit, and truth.
