“Being Crucified in Christ”

Galatians 2:20

20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Freedom. Deliverance.  Salvation.  These three things are all free gifts through the Blood.  When a person accepts Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, an important change takes place.  We leave the old sinful nature that we are so accustomed to for a new life that is pleasing, abundant, and renewed through the Father.  The devil hates to see people who once lived for him take on a new life of standing for Christ.  When we become born-again, our souls are saved by the Blood of Jesus, however, the flesh is only familiar with the past life of sin. We say we’re saved, but that lustful nature is still there. We say we’re born-again believers, but we continue to gossip about the people on our jobs and spread lies on those whom we dislike.  We say Jesus is the head of our life, but always lack forgiveness, love and compassion for one another.  It is very important for every Christian to know that once you accept Jesus Christ, we can’t do the things that we are always accustomed to doing! Our lives do not belong to us any longer because it is Christ who resides and moves through our every being.  When you have the love of God in you, every individual who you come in contact with matters.  Oftentimes people around us carry themselves in a way which makes us think that they have it all together.  But looks can be very well deceiving.  You never know what a person is dealing with. Addiction, heartache, and depression are just some of the works of the enemy to convince people that there is no way to break free and receive deliverance, which comes from God.  We as Christians need to love, pray, and care a little bit more for others. Someone’s life depends on it.  It could very well be that person on your job who is a prayer away from freedom.

Not only do we need to take on the compassion of Jesus Christ, but in everything we do, check in with Him.  Before you make that business deal, enter into that relationship, or even choose that career path, spend time with the Holy Spirit to make sure you are where He wants you to be.  If Christ lives in us, our main goal is to allow Him to get glory out of our lives.  He can’t get glory if we are fixed on our own agenda and only do what we “feel” like doing.  Sometimes it can be easier said than done.  But the more you spend time with Him and die to yourself daily, pleasing God becomes more than second nature; it’s a necessity to stay in His perfect will.    Starting today and everyday from now on, delight yourself into the Lord and watch Him manifest the blessings and desires of your heart right before your eyes!

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT: After obtaining salvation, we need to spend time with God and in the Word of God to become more and more like Him each day.
