“While You Wait, Seek and Trust Him”

Isaiah 40:31

31 but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

“I have no patience, and I hate waiting.” Ever heard that saying before?  The majority of us are still practicing that very thing today!  Why is it so hard to wait? Well, we live in a microwave generation where everything has to be ready and available right now.  We want the promotion without working. We want the college degree without studying and doing assignments.  But, do we ever think that sometimes God will place us in a position where things won’t come to us or manifest with the snap of a finger? The reason is simple: He wants to show all of us who He really is.  Perhaps you’re waiting on that job offer, financial breakthrough, or husband/wife.   Everything is not on our personal timing, it’s on God’s.  God places and sometimes keeps us in the wilderness because He needs to build our trust and faith in Him.  Just think, if everything was easy and ALWAYS happened the way we wanted it to, there would be no need to look to Him.  Even when you feel like you don’t or can’t hear from God, know that He is always there.  The Teacher is always silent during a test!

Matthew 6:33

33 but seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

The more we dwell on what we’re going through, doubt creeps in and will eventually begin to paralyze our faith.  God can’t move on our behalf if we hold on to what has us so worried.  Instead of focusing on your circumstance, seek God. Look within your heart, find that hiding place and take refuge in Him.  While we wait, keep serving, standing on His Holy Word, and praying.  He will supply ALL of our needs, but it’s going to require us to trust Him completely.  Not only does God want us to trust Him, He has to trust us too! If you’re believing God for a financial breakthrough, tithe and sow.   If you’re believing God for that husband or wife, submit yourself under a man or woman of God who is married, to pour into you what it requires to be selfless, forgiving, and compassionate.  God has a plan for each one of our lives.  Trust and believe that you are in great hands!

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT: Instead of complaining about it, choose to WORSHIP.

Faith and Patience go hand in hand.

Can you really have patience without faith?

    Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

I believe when we look to the hills in our time of eagerness God gives us renewed patience like tapping the refresh button on our web page of life.

Another element of this post that resonates with me is TRUST and I’ll take it a step further……the same trust we have in God is the same trustworthiness that our brothers and sisters expect in us. This trustworthiness translates into a sense of predictability….meaning you do what you say and you say only what you intend to do.

Perhaps this is another explanation as to why God makes us wait and have patience……to set an example for others? Our behavior of trust and actions of trustworthiness provides a direct reflection of Gods goodness to others and allows us more effectively minister to non believers (Yet another opportunity to glorify God while we wait).

Dena you’re spot on….thanks for spreading the wisdom!

  2. Byron, bless you!

You hit the nail on the head! Oftentimes God will use you to show others around you that even in the midst of a storm, he’ll still provide. I can co-sign on that for myself as I’ve been dealing with personal storms in my life. But God has provided for me throughout and I thank Him for using me to show the people around me that He is God. Thank you!

    Dena,
You’re most welcome! I know all about storms and waiting for a break through. It is in these storms that God will use you and they serve as preparation for Gods ultimate plan and blessing to you.
    Keep the faith!
