“True Satisfaction

“True Satisfaction”
February 22, 2012

There isn’t anyone in the world who can say that they do not enjoy satisfaction of their soul, especially when they are longing for something.  Now what we allow to satisfy our soul can consist of countless answers.  Money, cars, clothes, houses, marriage, children, and a dream job all can in fact bring us great satisfaction and happiness but that is only temporary. “Happiness is based on what is happening in a given moment, while true joy, which God wants us to have, is based on an internal assurance that is completely independent of outward circumstances.”  Hopefully spending time with God is what satisfies your longing soul the most.

Psalms 107:8-9 (NIV)

8 Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind, 9 for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.

God is the only one who can truly satisfy the longing soul.   We will NEVER be consistently satisfied UNLESS we put God first in our lives and in everything we do.  Matthew 6:33 says it best:  But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.  Just as we feed our bodies daily we must also be consistent with feeding ourselves spiritually as well.  “If we take time to feast on His Word and enjoy His presence every day, we will experience deep and continual satisfaction.”

Something to think about:  Happiness is a temporary feeling, while joy is internal peace that no one can take away from you.  Remember God is the ONLY One who can truly satisfy us, don’t waste your time following empty pleasures that won’t last.  Be Blessed blog readers!!!
