The Power Of Your Testimony

Terrifying….that’s the only way to describe my voyage through “judgment house”. Judgment house was a room by room theatrical drama that followed the lives of various young people. At the end of the walk thru, you got to see the characters being judged by GOD. In the the last two scenes you visit rooms that depict Heaven and Hell. The purpose was to depict Hell as horrible as possible; and to show just a glimpse of the glory we have waiting in heaven. Imagine a nine year old kid in a setting that could soften the heart of a grown man.  GOD had a plan to win the battle for my soul at the tender age of 9. I don’t recall the exact time. I don’t remember the exact date. All I remember is that my life was never the same.

Titus 3:3 “For we ourselves were also once
foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in
malice and envy, hateful and hating one another.”

How Glorious it was To finally be a child of the King. I like to think of it as the ultimate enlightenment. I won’t lie and say that everything I did wrong was flushed completely out of me; but Suddenly the things I did wrong hurt my soul. The pain that I felt was beautiful. It was the chastening of GOD. He didn’t want me to be how I used to be. He didn’t want me to fit in with the world. He wanted me to stand out and stand up for him. If I ever get discouraged I call on GODs name and he reminds me of how disturbed I was before I came to know him. As a child I didn’t play many sports.  I didn’t play any instruments….I mainly just lied. Deceit was my hobby before I found him. I don’t like to think of how I was before salvation, but there is a wealth of knowledge to be gained by examining your past. Your future depends on whether or not you can turn all your previous mistakes into tools of learning.

Mark 12:30-31Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all
your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is
this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

I found that the biggest change came in the way I treated other people. I slowly began to take other peoples’ thoughts and feelings into account. Eventually I even learned how to love others more than myself. I learned how to show Gods love. I now understood that I wouldn’t be judged based on how many Sundays I was in church (though he doesn’t want me to forsake the gathering of his saints). God wants us to show his love by being kind to one another. After all, Jesus Christ performed the ultimate act of kindness by dying on the cross for our sins! If everyone applied the simple “golden” rule: Treat others the way you would like to be treated; The world would be a much nicer place.

1 Corinth 9:24 “Do you not know that in a
race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to
get the prize.”

When the race starts everyone has the same distance to run. Some runners get to the finish line fast, others never see the finish line at all. The beauty of the race lies somewhere between the first lap and the last lap. The beauty of your life is not just expressed in your birth or your final days. There has been a journey. The articulation of this journey is your testimony. This is one of the most powerful tools that GOD has given you to reach other people. The map of your journey can help anyone who is trying to find their way. Share GOD by proclaiming to others how he changed your life!!!!
