Jeremiah 1:4-5 (NIV)
The word of the Lord came to me saying, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

God knew us before we were even born, and long before our natural parents ever knew we’d be here.  It’s comforting to know the Lord knows our future and has a unique plan for each of us here on this earth.  For that reason, we can’t dwell on the type of upbringing  we may have had (group homes, foster homes, etc).  There comes a time when we can’t blame our parents or our past for the way we are — We have to  make up in our minds that this is it – no more excuses!  We have to play the hand that we’ve been dealt.

Some of us don’t want to remember where we’ve come from.  We act like we’ve been in church all our lives, “holier than thou,”and are quick to judge others.  But hold up!!  God has delivered ALL of us from something.  In order to remain humble and grateful for what you have, you have to remember where God has brought you from.  We all go through tests, but that’s what builds our faith and allows us to have testimonies.

Be real with children.  Before you criticize a child, share your testimony first, and let them know you understand because you may have gone through the same situation. did the same thing.  Tell them that we serve a God who forgives.  Real change comes when you go before the Father and you confess with your mouth and you believe in your heart.

It is these real life experiences that help set others free from the tricks of the enemy.  The devil never plays fair.  His job is to make our lives a “living Hell” – literally.  But, we must be brave enough to stand up to satan and declare the he has no power over our lives because of Jesus Christ our Savior.

Something to think about: We have to be able to dream BIG.  After you read this post (you’re almost done, lol), grab a notebook and make it your “Victory Report.”  Write down and keep track of every victory God brings you.  This will be a constant reminder if God did this and that, He can do it again!  And, share some of your good news with a friend.  Your testimony may help build someone else’s faith…
