“Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever (NIV).”  I’m sure we all may have heard or seen the popular quote: “Happy Moments, Praise God.  Quiet Moments, Worship God.  Painful Moments, Trust God.  EVERY Moment, THANK God.”  It is important that no matter what moment in life you are going through, you should ALWAYS Thank God.  Not only because He will be the one to bring you through that moment, but because His name alone deserves praise.

David Thanked God (1 Chronicles 15:1-28; 16:1-43)

King David lived in the city of Jerusalem.  He had built many different buildings except for a church building.  Because David loved the Lord so much, he wanted to build a place where people could come to pray and sing songs to God (similar to what we learned about King Solomon a few weeks ago).  King David built a tent church.

When the tent church was completed, David called everyone together, assigning them with special tasks.  Some were assigned to move things into the church, some were chosen to sing songs, and others were chosen to play instruments.  King David everyone to come and worship in the new tent church.  Many people walked together carrying items, playing instruments, and singing songs to the new church.  King David was so overwhelmed with joy and happy with the new church, that he took a moment to sing songs to thank God for just how great He truly is.

Something to think about:  No matter what point in life you are in now, you should ALWAYS THANK GOD.  Whether life seems to be perfect or you’re facing your most difficult trial yet…THANK GOD.  Marvin Sapp’s song “Give Thanks” says it best; “In EVERTHING give thanks, lift your hands and give thanks…”
