“Discipleship 103”

“Discipleship 103”

This message is the 3rd installment of my Pastor’s series on Discipleship.  It focuses on releasing sin from your life.  It’s important to rely on the saying, “Let go and let God” because hurt and pain can distort the anointing on your life. When you blame other people for the way you are, you will never become who God called you to be.  Do you want to be set free?  If you know something is not right in your life, ask God to remove it.

Many traditional churches avoid talking about the Holy Spirit, but this Comforter plays an important role in releasing sin from your life.  The Holy Ghost cleans us up.  It’s there to protect us, lead us, and reveal things to come in our lives.

Proverbs 20:27 (NIV)

The lamp of the Lord searches the spirit of a man; it searches out his inmost being.

The Holy Spirit is also like a candle, exposing the devil’s evil ways.  So, how does satan work?  Through people.  That’s why  we can’t entertain people who like to gossip, flirt with married people, or other things that aren’t pleasing to God… Stay away!  God loves spending time with us, so don’t let people and their mess keep you from the Lord.

Something to think about:   When you release sin/regret/worries over to God,  then He can truly move in your life.  When you give him permission to have His way, the blessings will come.  But, it’s important to remember that you must be spiritually ready for prosperity.  Our hearts have to be right.  You’ve probably heard the phrase, “Pride comes before the fall” and it’s true.
