“Pass the Test”

“Pass the Test”

* God puts certain tests in our paths for a purpose.  There is always something we can learn from Him.  Ever wonder why you’re constantly dealing with the same type of problem/temptation?  Maybe it’s a test that you haven’t passed yet.  If you pass the test, the Lord will promote you.  But, if you do not pass the test, you’ll have to take it again.

* Obedience is better than sacrifice.  Can the Lord trust you?  Being comfortable and being in God’s will is usually not one in the same.

Romans 8:28 (NIV)
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

* There’s a big difference between a preacher and a pastor.  A preacher is responsible for a sermon, but a pastor is responsible for the souls of his congregation.  Just like David, the shepherd (a Pastor) must be able to protect his/her sheep (congregation).  Whatever comes against you, your Pastor should be ready to handle it.

1 Samuel 17:34-35 (NIV)
But David said to Saul, “Your servant has been keeping his father’s sheep.  When a lion or a bear came and carried off a sheep from the flock, I went after it, struck it, and rescued the sheep from its mouth…”

Something to think about: Don’t come out of the oven unless you’re done!  You don’t want God to place you somewhere you’re not ready for.  So, instead of asking God to take away the test, be thankful for the lesson.  Because on the other side of the test is promotion.
