*All you need is patience.

That time period when you’re waiting on your breakthrough…you have to be careful of what you allow in your ear. Don’t listen to people who speak of doubt and unbelief. Beware of those distractions.

Matthew 14:23-34 (Jesus walks on water) (NIV)
After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone, but the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it. During the fourth watch of the night Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake…. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and beginning to sink cried out, “Lord save me!”. Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said,”why did you doubt?”

You’ll notice in these scriptures that from the beginning, challenges were already there (the wind was against the boat). Challenges in life are going to come if you’re doing something for God and if you’re not. So, don’t give up on what God told you to do.

*It’s dangerous to quit in the middle of a storm

What you go through is bigger than you. For example: When you feel like giving up on your marriage, think about your children and family members who may have never seen what a good marriage looks like. Somebody else is depending on you to make it through your situation.

1 Timothy 1:18-20 (NIV)
Timothy, my son, I give you this instruction in keeping with the prophecies once made about you, so that by following them you may fight the good fight, holding on to faith and a good conscience. Some have rejected these and so have shipwrecked their faith. Among them are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan to be taught not to blaspheme.

When you shipwreck your faith, God can hand you over to the devil. The Lord doesn’t play

* Get yourself in order.

When the harvest comes, you need to be prepared. Let the Lord correct you. When God shows up, you need to be ready! To whom much is given, much is required.

1 Corinthians 3:12-15 (NIV)
If any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones,wood, hay, or straw, his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man’s work. If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward. If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames.

God sends the fire to see if you can stand. He wants to see what your motives are. That fire comes to shake some things loose, so just endure and suck it up! God wouldn’t have told you to do his will, if you couldn’t do it.

Hebrews 10:39, 11:1 (NIV)
But we are not one of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved. Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

Something to think about: Someone can be saved by your testimony. It may be hard to understand this while you’re in the middle of a storm, but hold on. Your testimony has the power to bless you AND someone else. God is always looking at the big picture even when we can only see a small, blurry image.
