“A Father’s Love”

God desires to have an intimate relationship with us.

1 Corinthians 6:20 (NIV)
“You were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.”

This scripture tells us we no longer belong to ourselves, but instead to God. Jesus paid the price of dying on the cross, so that we may have direct access to our Father in Heaven. You are no longer fatherless. You are a son/daughter of the Most High. He will never let you go. Since you belong to God, have peace in knowing that you are in His care. When something belongs to you, you handle it with more care (ex. Your car or home). Just as we take care of our belongings, God takes care of us.

Luke 15:3-7 (NIV) Parable of the lost sheep
Verse 4:
“Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it?”

God is the same way. He will go above and beyond to find the lost sinner. Even when we make a mistake, He still shows mercy. God is looking for ways to bless us. Remind yourself of our Father’s love. God is ALWAYS with you and you are special. We have someone who knows us better than we know ourselves – He created us!

Luke 11-31 (NIV) Parable of the Lost Son
Verse 17:
“When he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired men have food to spare, and here I am starving to death’.”

The son knew he didn’t have anything, but his dad had more than enough to supply his needs. The same is true about our “Dad” in Heaven.

Verse 20:
“But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.”

Even when we fall short and sin, God is right there to pick us up. He loves us despite our shortcomings. He’s the best father anyone could ask for.

Something to think about: We are just as important to God as Jesus. Jesus is His Son and we are His sons and daughters. We are His children! We have rights and privileges. As Christians we have favor over our lives, so expect blessings! Many times we limit our blessings because we limit our expectations. ALL things are possible with God!

  1. Thanks, Amie for the message tonight. Sometimes we need reminders that GOD is always watching over us and tending to us like a shepherd to his flock. Love ya!
