“I am”

“I am”

God desires to make some drastic changes in your life.

God has a major encounter with Moses because Moses must take a special message to Pharaoh and a special message to the children of Israel.

Exodus 3:2-3 (NIV)
There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up. So, Moses thought, “I will go over and see this strange sight- why the bush does not burn up.”

The people of Israel couldn’t imagine anything other than being slaves- that’s the only life they were used to. But, Moses was called to tell them that God had a special place for them in the Promised Land: a new home, debt-free (how much would you love to have a home with no mortgage!)

Exodus 3:7-8 (NIV)
The Lord said, ‘I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. So, I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey- the home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jesusites.’

* When God gets ready to do something, He has to prepare us and bring us up to His level.

* Where we go, depends on how much faith we have. Faith is the weapon of our warfare.

* Sometimes our education can prevent us from receiving a blessing from God. We try to “make sense” of God, but He doesn’t operate on logic. Have reckless faith. Dream BIG. God can do anything!

* At the time when it seems God is the most silent, that is when He’s doing the most on your behalf. He’s working…

Exodus 3:13-14 (NIV)
Moses said to God, “Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you, and they ask me, ‘what is his name?’ Then what should I tell them?” God said to Moses, “I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I am has sent me to you’.”

* God is. That’s all we need. The Lord says it in His word: I am who I am.  He needs no description.  Anything and everything we need, want, desire, hope for…. God can provide, if we trust Him.  We walk by faith, not by sight.    So, don’t let what you see, paralyze your faith!

Something to think about: Faith is a process. Try to enjoy the journey.  When God gives you more luggage to carry, it’s to prepare you for what you ‘ll need when you reach your final destination!
