“Thankful”

being_thankful_cardHappy Thanksgiving!  So, here’s the big question of the day:  What are you thankful for?  It’s a question you’ve probably answered many times on this holiday.  As a child it seemed like an annoying way to delay dinner time!  Of course, the question carries a lot of meaning for me now.  These past few years, I’ve been challenging myself to find an “original” answer to the question.  We’ve all heard:  ”I’m thankful for family and friends… ” — that’s a given.  Last year, the answer was easy: “A new job.” In fact, I wasn’t just thankful, I was thrilled that God opened that door for me.  Now, 365 days later, I can say I’m just as thankful for the people God brought into my life as a result of the new job.  It reminds me of  something I heard at a conference last weekend:  ”You’ll be the same person you are today that you were yesterday except for the people you meet and the books you read.”  So, what am I thankful for?  The new people God brought into my life this year.  It may not be the most “original” answer, but because of you, my life will never be the same.
